Dr. Hisao Kondo and Dr. Hiraoki Yamanaka, Japanese members of G1a, visited CISMID on August 8th to explain the use and assemblage of the ground motion equipment donated within the framework of the SATREPS project. The equipment consists of eight sets of Mitutoyo JEP-6A3-10 accelerometers, Sercel L-22E velocimeters and KGC HKS-9700a-15 data loggers. Their implementation will make it possible to record ground motions in the low-frequency range and perform seismic interferometry analyses. Finally, one set was installed in CISMID’s seismic station. Peruvian G1a team expects to continue with the rest of the equipment in the following months.
